The Impact of Strategic Thinking on Innovation and Entrepreneurial Intention Among Students: The Mediating Role of Entrepreneurial Self Efficacy (Case Study: Persian Gulf University)
The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of strategic thinking on innovation and entrepreneurial inclination with the mediating role of entrepreneurial self-efficacy among students of Persian Gulf University, Bushehr. This study is of an applied type and was conducted using a descriptive correlational method. In order to test the hypotheses, structural equation modeling was used using SPSS 26 and SmartPLS 3 software. The statistical population of the study was students of Persian Gulf University in the academic year 1404, of which 400 people were selected as a sample using a stratified random sampling method. Four standard questionnaires were used to collect data, including a questionnaire on strategic thinking, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, innovation, and entrepreneurial inclination. The validity of the instruments was confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis and their reliability was confirmed using Cronbach's alpha test and composite reliability. The findings showed that strategic thinking has a positive and significant effect on innovation and entrepreneurial inclination and also promotes entrepreneurial self-efficacy. On the other hand, entrepreneurial self-efficacy also has a positive effect on innovation and entrepreneurial inclination and plays a partial mediating role in these relationships. The results of the study emphasize the importance of paying attention to strategic thinking skills in higher education to promote the psychological and behavioral capabilities of students on the path to entrepreneurship.
